Kourous A. Rezaei, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Rush University Medical Center and a Partner at Illinois Retina Associates in Chicago, Illinois. He is also the Co-Director of the vitreoretinal fellowship at Rush University Medical Center.
He received his medical degree from the University of Cologne, Germany. His post-graduate training includes a residency in Ophthalmology at the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science, University of Chicago, and a vitreoretinal fellowship at the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit, Michigan.
Dr. Rezaei is the delegate of the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS) at the American Medical Association (AMA) and is the Chair of the International Affairs Committee at the ASRS.
He has served as principal investigator or co-investigator in numerous clinical trials and is well published in leading academic journals.
Dr. Rezaei has served as editorial board member for Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, Retina times, Retina Today, and Eyetube. He is the organizer and course director for Retinaws and Formula Retina that have taken place at major international meetings in 17 countries, 5 continents.
His major interest is teaching new advances in vitreoretinal surgery including complex vitreoretinal surgery, unique surgical techniques, and rare surgical cases.
